What to Expect from Your Consultation with Mr Martin Klinke
Visiting a specialist can feel a little overwhelming, but Mr Martin Klinke and his team aim to make every appointment as straightforward and supportive as possible. The consultation is your opportunity to talk about your symptoms, ask questions, and start a plan that is right for you.
Your First Appointment
During your initial consultation, Mr Klinke will spend time understanding your history - how your foot or ankle pain started, what activities or movements make it better or worse, and any previous treatments or surgeries. He will then examine your foot and ankle carefully, looking at movement, strength, alignment, and any areas of discomfort. If you’ve had X-rays, MRI scans, or other investigations, bring them along so he can review everything in detail.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are easy to remove. This makes it easier for Mr Klinke to examine your feet and ankles thoroughly and for you to feel relaxed during the assessment.
How Long It Will Take
Your first appointment usually lasts 20 - 30 minutes. This allows enough time for a full discussion, a detailed examination, and to answer any questions you may have about your condition or potential treatments.
What Happens Next
At the end of your consultation, Mr Klinke will explain what he has found and talk you through your options, whether that’s non-surgical management such as physiotherapy or orthotics, or surgery if that is appropriate. He will guide you through the next steps, outlining what treatment involves, what to expect from recovery, and how to achieve the best outcome.
The aim of your consultation is to give you clarity, confidence, and a clear plan to help you get back to your everyday life - comfortably and safely.
